Carl Boldy - vocals, guitars. Carl was manufactured in the late '60s - somewhere in the UK. Things started to get interesting in the early '80s - when he scored a few Elvis Presley LPs, a pair of Beatle song books and a Fender 12 - and attempted to convince all around him that nothing else was worth hearing or playing. Uncle Phil introduced the likes of Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot and Willie Nelson - long drives in the back seat of the family station wagon cemented the Country element - but '60s / '70s pop rock was the staple diet. Through the early '90s, Carl continued to chase down the classics - played in a few bands - and also wrote and recorded his own material. After the ink ran dry - a few high school chums would reunite to form CCD - and rock out for a year or so - until growing up finally got in the way. Then Carl met Paul. Friendship was instant (Paul is also a bit - um - damaged) - and after a few months of procrastination - Carl and Paul got together for the first of many kitchen table sessions - and recorded a number of those mutually familiar classics - just voice and guitars. The time had come. Paul knew Scott - Carl knew James - enter The Tramplers. |
